Improving hygiene in public and private bathrooms
When we wash our hands, we first touch a conventional faucet with our dirty hands. This direct skin contact causes us to spread the germs that are on our skin and to pick up new ones which are on the faucet’s surface through cross-contamination. Touchless faucets, which are controlled by an infrared sensor, can therefore be a good alternative option in order to make hand-washing more hygienic – especially in multi-person households or public spaces.
