GROHE water-saving features: showering with a clear conscience
Düsseldorf, June 10, 2024 – The need to rethink our use of resources such as water has entered our everyday lives due to the advancing climate, water and energy crises. Using water with care has become an imperative: almost two-thirds (64%) of people questioned in a recent survey believe that using less water individually makes a difference to the environment. (1) With the bathroom accounting for over two-thirds of daily water use (2), people are beginning to rethink their showering habits. Internationally, 65% of respondents say they already changed or plan to change their habits, resulting in shorter or less frequent showers. (1)
This raises the question: Do we have to sacrifice comfort to make a difference, or can we still enjoy a shower with a clear conscience and without fear of the bills to come?
Backed by nearly 90 years of manufacturing expertise, GROHE, one of the leading global brands for complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, offers solutions that allow consumers to enjoy their shower experience, while saving water and money.

The water-saving GROHE EcoJoy technology for hand and head showers as well as faucets helps to decrease water consumption. It is available on numerous models across most of all style and price segments such as the GROHE Tempesta or the GROHE Euphoria shower systems. A flow limiter reduces the water flow without sacrificing performance or comfort by up to 50 percent. For example, GROHE Tempesta 110 equipped with EcoJoy, can save a 4-person household up to €68 on their annual water bill and up to €282 on their annual energy bill compared to a conventional hand shower. -
Many GROHE thermostat models include the GROHE EcoButton, which allows the full water flow only when pressed. So, up to 50% of water can be saved without even a conscious effort.
-
With GROHE TurboStat technology included in various GROHE models, the thermostat maintains a constant water temperature throughout the showering process and compensates for temperature peaks to prevent scalding.
These solutions are just one part of GROHE's commitment to taking care of every drop of water. With a staggering 47% of people saying they don't know enough about how to reduce water consumption (1), there is a clear need for the brand to continue raising awareness of the mindful use of this precious resource.

(3) This calculation example is based on the following parameters: Household of 4 people using 7 minutes of shower time per person per day. The costs are based on the following estimate: Energy cost (electricity) 0,3 €/kWh, water cost (without waste water) 0,002€/litre. Assumption of flow rates (measured flow at 3 bar pressure):
Old product flow rates: 12 l/min for shower.
New product flow rates: 8.3 l/min for shower. New products equipped with water-saving EcoJoy technology.
GROHE does not guarantee the accuracy and correctness of the results, as the calculation depends on many unforeseeable factors and is therefore non-binding. In particular, it depends on water and energy prices, consumer behavior and the technical installations on site.
